Lake Havasu City was just a small spot on the Colorado River when Murphy Broadcasting first hit the airwaves. Our aim was to build a company that could stand with the best broadcast facilities in the U.S. We achieved this by adhering to the following principles:
1. Hire the best: Our marketing team members hail from all over the country, as far as New York and as close as down the street. We proudly boast over 60 years of broadcast experience, including decades of newspaper and magazine experience.
2. Stay ahead of the curve: Some of the things we have done may seem strange to people… such as sending over 1,000,000 faxes over a ten year period and delivering the news daily to tri-state residents; then moving forward to electronic delivery with e-Press®, the area’s only comprehensive newspaper. This was simply another way to keep in touch with our listeners, for the benefit of our advertisers.
3. Learn and learn some more: Each year we spend tens of thousands of dollars training our people, teaching them about the businesses that advertise with us. Our training is extensive: we bring in trainers year after year from the Radio Advertising Bureau and the National Association of Broadcasters to train our people, who in turn, train other radio people!
What We Do to stay on Top:
While newspaper and other media are cutting back on local involvement, especially news, Murphy Broadcasting stations continues to expand further in these areas. With an average of eight local newscasts a day, www.JustSayNews.com, e-Press® and our 24 hour local news channel streaming on the Internet, Murphy Broadcasting is THE source for local news.
